Information about cookies

A cookie is a small text file saved on your computer or similar device such as a tablet or smart phone.

What is a cookie and what is it used for?

A cookie is a small text file saved on your computer or similar device such as a tablet or smart phone.

Two types of cookies are used on postnord.se: persistent cookies and session cookies. Persistent cookies are stored as a file on your computer for a certain period of time until the website visitor, or the server that sent the cookies, erases them. Session cookies are only stored temporarily while the visitor browses a website and are erased when the browser is closed.

Cookies can either be first-party cookies or third-party cookies. First-party cookies are placed by the website you are visiting while third-party cookies are placed by another party/website than the one you are visiting. For example, third-party cookies are often used by advertising networks to identify a particular user and use information about how the user consumes content on the various websites or apps, as well as to display (customised) advertising on the network's websites.

Pixel tags, web storage, mobile identifiers and other similar technologies can also have the same or similar functions as cookies. In this cookie policy, the term "cookie" refers to all cookies, mobile identifiers and similar technologies.

Cookies on PostNords websites and apps

The following list contains the types of cookies used on postnord.se and in PostNord's apps, their functions, the purpose of collecting the data and how long collected data are kept for.

Marketing and advertising cookies

Purpose and data collected

Marketing and advertising cookies help us analyse and track visitor behaviour so that we can deliver customised content and functions based on user choices and previous visits to the website.

Such cookies are also used for so-called re-targeting. This means that we identify you on our website via the cookie and, when you are on another website, are then able to show you marketing from us. For example, we can use Facebook Pixel to show you marketing on Facebook in this way. We can also choose not to show you any marketing and instead direct our marketing towards those who have not yet visited our website. These cookies can also help with customised marketing; e.g. by marketing products/services/functions you have shown an interest in on our website by clicking on information about these products etc.

The data collected are your IP address, i.e. a unique ID (combination of numbers and digits) that identifies you when browsing on other websites; this ID is used for the re-targeting explained above.
